Next comes the animation. When you block out the animation it looks very rough, but the poses/timing is easier to adjust with the animation blocked out. The short is starting to transform and you should be able to tell the overall feel to the short.
Here is my short film I made while attending Animation Mentor. I finally spent some time learning Mental Ray in Maya and rendered a final version. Click on 'older posts' to see the entire short film process, you can go all the way back to my video pitch to my Mentor, through the rough storyboard animatic, layout and into animation.... My Mentors who guided me through this process were Cal Brunker (House of Cool) and Sean Sexton (DreamWorks). Both gave some great insights and ideas for making my film what it is!
